OVERVIEW

Lymphedema

Lymphedema refers to persistent swelling of the arm and leg.

This can occur following mastectomy. It could also happen after infection or scar formation, which may block the lymphatic fluid flow.

Lymphedema can occur weeks, months, or even years after an injury, trauma, or surgery.

There are many treatment options available for postural and therapeutic exercises, massage, compression bandaging, and compression garments.
